The Board Overall

High Society is a creature of habit, manufacturing all-around boards that can handle any situation, yet the USS HS 2 deviates from its regular body design. The board is 35″ broad and 10’6″ long, making it their widest yet. With all of that extra space, you may try SUP yoga or bring a canine friend along for the voyage, or even a child. The USS is robust and rigid enough to handle whatever you want to do with the extra room. The board can support a 275-pound rider and a cooler of cold brews. If you’re looking for a place to call home, this is the place to go.

Length: 10’6”

Width: 35”

Weight capacity: 275 lbs.

Fin configuration: Tri-fin: Removable center and two fixed side fins

The Board: On the Side

High Society boards are built to withstand being run over by an excavator because of their military-grade structure. Although it is not encouraged, this just goes to demonstrate that a High Society outfit will last you for years; sharp pebbles and dog claws aren’t a problem here.

Your board will be stiffer than a (wooden) board thanks to reinforced rails. With a six-inch thickness, the ultra buoyant USS HS 2 keeps you afloat from tip to tail, with no sinking or bowing. For a soft and stable grip, the top deck is covered in diamond grooved EVA foam.

When you’re doing SUP yoga or simply attempting to lie down and watch the clouds pass by, the deck pad has a comfortable carrying handle in the center that lays flat and out of the way. The bungee storage zone at the nose of the board is handy for bringing goods along, and the extra area is also great for carrying guests of the animal or human variety.

The USS’s rocker has been flattened, making it more suitable for a wider range of circumstances. The inflating valve, as well as two D-rings for connecting a leash and tethering, are located near the tail of the board. A removable tool-less center fin with an EZ clip and two fixed pliable side fins make up the tri-fin setup.

The Whole Package

If you’ve ever looked at the accessory packages of other SUP companies, you’re definitely doing a happy dance right now. With all of their boards, High Society delivers the ultimate accessory package, which includes everything you’ll need to get out on the water. Your board and all of its attachments are stored in a travel backpack.

The mesh sides of this bag’s structure keep all of its contents cool and dry, which we appreciate. A dual-action pump with a built-in pressure gauge and a comfortable handle is also included.

A two-piece travel paddle, safety leash, and repair kit round out the rest of the accessories box. The entire apparatus collapses into a little package that can be thrown on your back and hiked up to your next launch site.

Setup And Performance

If you’re a complete beginner, you’ll feel like a pro by the time you inflate the USS HS 2 and get halfway across the lake. We’re not sure you’ll need the instructions because this board is so simple to operate.

Setting up and inflating the board is straightforward; the only thing to remember if you’ve never paddled before is to inflate the board to 15 PSI and close the valve. The USS is so steady and easy to navigate once you’re on the water that it performs most of the work for you.

If you’re in really shallow water, remove the middle fin to avoid catching on anything, but keep it on for more control and straighter tracking. You can take on some light surf on the USS with or without the fin if you’re a seasoned rider.

The board floats considerably above the water and is not blown away by strong winds. With the USS, SUP yoga is no longer a concern. Basic flows are achievable on most High Society boards, but the USS takes it a step further by providing all the stability needed for advanced asanas and even balances.

Just when we thought a High Society board couldn’t get any more sturdy, the USS HS 2 arrived.

Board Features

The Highs And Lows

High Society boards have a little bit of everything pleasant on them, and the USS HS 2 has more than ever before thanks to its improved stability and control. In their all-around boards, the business did a good job of addressing all of the SUP basics; the only thing missing is a few extra grab grips. This isn’t an essential feature, but it would improve the USS HS 2’s convenience and functionality.
